The approximate 150,000 residents of Orange County are considered to be very fortunate to live in one of the very best places in North Carolina. Most of them own their own home and enjoy a suburban lifestyle. Chapel Hill is home to the main campus for the University of North Carolina and the UNC Medical Center. There are three towns in Orange County. They are Carrboro, Chapel Hill, and Hillsborough. Hillsborough is the county seat. Since Carborro and Chapel Hill are predominantly developed, most homes on the market will be resales. Hillsborough, on the other hand, will likely have major new construction in the very near future. Many new residents to the Triangle will be rolling out their welcome mats in this area.
