For many in the Great Kitsap Peninsula Naval Base Kitsap was their very first duty station.  First time away from home and also come and gone a few times during your career.  Many retired former military either start or return to the Pacific North West because of the lifestyle, landscape and opportunity to market the skills you learned in the military in the civilian workforce.

The Great Kitsap Peninsula offers a fantastic opportunity for Higher Education at Olympic College.  Olympic College is voted Top Ten Community Colleges in the United States 4 years in a row by the Aspen Institute of Higher Learning.  They offer over 24 Baccalaurette Degrees from over 12 different institutions of higher learning to include Washington State University Mechanical and Technical Engineering Labs and Western Washington University Sattelite campus located at the Olympic College Poulsbo Location.
