The three main credit reporting agencies are Equifax, TransUnion and Experian.  Each is required by law to provide you will a free credit report every twelve months.  Check your credit report when you start thinking about buying.  Information on your credit report can affect your ability to become a homeowner.  

Determine your monthly payment

  • mortgage principal, interest, insurance and taxes

  • discuss your various finance options

  • help you figure out how much cash you will need for the down payment and closing costs

Seek approval

Compare mortgage and shop around at credit unions and local banks where you are more likely to get personal service.  I can help you through the loan pre-qualification process and introduce you to my in-house mortgage partner.   A pre-approval shows the seller that you are serious and ready to buy.  

Then the hunting begins

We’ll discuss what you are looking for, in terms of cost, square footage, number of bedrooms, neighborhood, school district, etc. – the more details you can provide, the better!

We can start the house-hunting process online if you like, e-mailing you links to homes that match your criteria. When we’ve narrowed it down to your favorites, we’ll take a look at those homes in person.

Make an offer

And when you’re ready to make an offer, I’ll do a market analysis of the home you’re interested in to make sure that it is priced fairly. Then, I’ll negotiate aggressively on your behalf, to get you the best possible deal.

Closing the deal

I’ll be with you at the closing to make sure you understand everything you are signing, and that all of your questions are answered.
